2.What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.

• Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies stay for a defined period.

3.Legal basis

• Strictly necessary cookies: § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (no consent required) and Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
• All other cookies: your consent under § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Optional cookies are off until you allow them. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

4.Cookies we use

Required for Rekuro to work. They cannot be switched off.

• Sign-in session (sb-…-auth-token, cookie, set by Supabase Auth, our sign-in provider): keeps you signed in and protects your account. Only set when you sign in; deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.
• Cookie choice (rekuro-cookie-consent, local storage): remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner. Stored for 12 months, after which we ask again.
• Guest access (rekuro.pendingSemesterCode and rekuro.guestProgress, local storage): only if you look around a semester with its invite code without an account. Keeps the code and your lesson choice so you do not have to enter them again. Deleted once you join the semester with your account, or when the code is no longer valid.
• Back link on legal pages (rekuro-legal-return, session storage): remembers the page you came from so "Back" returns there. Deleted when you close the tab.

Remember your preferences between visits. At the moment this is the answer mode of the review session ("Write answers" or "Show answers", rekuro.reviewMode, local storage). Stored until you change it or withdraw your consent; without consent, the review session starts in "Write answers" every time.

Legal basis: consent

Help us understand which features are used and where Rekuro is slow or breaks. Rekuro does not use an analytics tool or analytics cookies at the moment. If we add one, it will only load after your consent, and we will name it here with its provider and storage period. We do count page visits on our server without cookies and without storing anything on your device; see section 3 of the Privacy Policy.

Rekuro does not use marketing, advertising or social media cookies, and we do not sell personal data.

5.Managing your choice

On your first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept all optional cookies, reject them, or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookie Settings, which is also linked in the footer of every page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

6.Your rights

You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

7.Changes

We update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or when legal requirements change. If a change needs new consent, we will ask you again.
