Terms of Use

1.Scope

These Terms of Use apply to the Rekuro website and, once available, the Rekuro mobile app (together "Rekuro"), operated by Levin Linsler (see Imprint).

By creating an account or using Rekuro, you agree to these terms.

2.The service

Rekuro helps you study with flashcards. You can create, edit and import cards, review them with spaced repetition, be quizzed by AI on your lecture slides, have your cards checked by AI and share decks within your group.

Rekuro is currently free of charge and available by invitation only. There is no entitlement to permanent availability of Rekuro or of individual features.

3.Your account

• An account requires an invitation and a valid email address.
• Each account is for one person. Do not share your access with others.
• Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us immediately if you suspect misuse.

4.Your content

Cards, decks, answers and slides you add remain yours. You warrant that:

• you hold the necessary rights to the content you upload or import,
• no third-party rights are infringed,
• the content does not violate applicable law.

You grant us a simple, free, non-transferable right to store, process and display your content only as far as needed to provide Rekuro to you and, for content you share, to your group. This includes passing content to our AI provider when you use an AI feature. The right ends when you delete the content or your account.

5.Lecture slides and copyright

Lecture slides are usually protected by copyright. Upload slides only for your own studies and only if you are allowed to use them for that purpose.

Uploaded slides are visible only to the group they were uploaded to and are never published. Do not download, copy or pass on slides from Rekuro outside your group.

If a rights holder objects to an upload, we will remove it.

6.Sharing in groups

Cards and slides you add to a group are visible to all members of that group, who can study them. You can delete cards and slides you added yourself; group owners can also remove them. If you delete your account, the cards and slides you added stay with the group without your name (see the Privacy Policy).

7.AI features

Questions, grades, model answers and card suggestions are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. They are study aids, not official assessments. Always check important content against your slides and course materials.

Do not enter sensitive personal data (yours or anyone else's) into cards, answers or slides.

8.Rules of conduct

It is prohibited to:

• upload unlawful or infringing content,
• share offensive, discriminatory or hateful content,
• access other users' or groups' data without permission,
• scrape, automate or overload Rekuro, or try to bypass its security,
• use the AI features for purposes unrelated to studying.

9.Moderation and suspension

We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law. In case of a serious or repeated violation, we may suspend or close the account concerned. Where reasonable, we will inform you beforehand.

10.Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in your profile. Your data is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy; content you added to a group stays with the group (section 6). Before that, you can download a copy of your data in your profile.

We may discontinue Rekuro or individual features. We will announce this in good time where possible so you can request a copy of your data.

11.Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health.

For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation essential to the purpose of these terms, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

We are in particular not liable for the content of users or for the accuracy of AI-generated content, within the limits set out above.

12.Data protection

Information on the processing of personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

13.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms if Rekuro's features or legal requirements change. We will inform you of material changes by email or in Rekuro at least four weeks before they take effect.

14.Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you live remain unaffected. Should individual provisions of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
